You've gotta love the beach!

I am still alive! I promise! I'm just still extremely busy around here and really don't have time to take pics of my LOs!
And now I have confession to make- I've totally fallen in love with the absolute perfect line of paper!!! It's called the White Out Collection from We R Memorie Keepers and it is totally AWESOME! I was so happy when I discovered this line at Michaels one day and I've had so much fun working with it!
Mmm-hmm...this is something that I did using the White Out Collection. Check out that paper! Isn't it way too fun?!
I'm totally loving using all colors of orange lately! Which is funny because i've never really liked orange that much, but my taste in color has obviously taken a different route lately=) lol!
The journaling says: In my opinion, the beach is one of the funnest and best places to hang out. Me and my fam luv it! Which leads me to say, 'you've gotta love the beach!'
You'll notice that I used this same pic of my sis walking on the beach on another layout. I find it very hard to use a picture only once! (as you will soon come to find out) =)
For this part of the title, I painted the chipboard letters yellew and then I sprayed them with orange spray ink=)
And of course, more/lots of flowers :) If you are an "avid" reader of my blog then you know how much I LOVE using flowers! I don't think i've made a lo yet without including a single flower! LOL!

Well, today was an incredibly awesome day! I was actually able to draw outside while wearing capris and a short-sleeved shirt! Definately a first since winter began! It's the 1st day of March and it seems like spring is taking a little long in getting here!
But pretty soon we can all say "good-bye winter"...
...and "hello spring!!!"
LOL!
Well thanks for stoppin by! And be sure to check back soon, cause I have lots more to share!

Hugs!!

So I'm in the process of looking for a "new look" for my blog  at the moment (as you can tell =)), so you'll have to bear with me as I try out new backgrounds=)
Ok, so it's February now and so I've been busy scrappin' some "love-themed" LOs =)
I am so happy with the way this lo turned out! =D "Hugs" was the perfect title too. Yeah, in my family we like to give hugs=)

I'm so totally loving using black & white photos right now=)
Aren't all those pics just way too cute? =) I love it when I get good/cute shots of my fam! (and then of course scrap them=) lol!

And now for the tutorial that I promised on how to make that flower=) You might already know how to make this flower, but this tutorial is for just in case you don't :)
1. So for this particular flower I used brown paper bags (or more like 1 paper bag =) But you can use any type of paper you want. Only, the thinner the paper is the easier it will be ;)
2. Then draw 3 large-sized flowers and 3 small-sized flowers on the bag. This step is really up to you. You can make the flowers as big or as small as you want and it's also your decision on how many layers you want =)
And also, do worry about perfection. You're going to have to crumple them all up soon anyways =)

3. Now comes the fun part! Carefully crumble up each flower until it becomes a little ball. The more crumpled-up it is, the more vintage look it will have =)
4. Then unfold each flower until they look a little something like this... (be careful not to wrip a petal while you are unfolding them =)
5. Now for this particular flower, I decided to paint it red. But it's really up to you what you want to do. You can ink it, paint it, or just do whatever you want!

                                    6. After you paint the flowers, fold each of them in half

 7. Then, take a stapler and staple each of them at the bottom of the folded area.

8. Once that step is finished, unfold the flowers.
9. Then adhere/layer each of the flowers ontop of eachother, larger on bottom and smaller on top

9. I used a small paint brush to curl the edges of each petal, but you can always just leave the petals as they are =)
And there you have it! Here are the flowers that I made using these steps.

These flowers are really easy and fun to make! Does it get any better than that? :D

A walk on the beach...

Life here is way far from being a walk on the beach right now! It's been snowing, raining, cloudy, and all that "good" stuff. I totally can't wait for spring!
So here's a lo that I did for a challenge. The challenge was to incorporate a custom-made flower(s), so (as you can see=) I incorporated lots of hand-made flowers(FUN!!!) =D
That's one of my lil sisters in the picture at a beach in California.
I made a film-strip with other pictures that I took from the same trip.

This is my fave flower (cause it's got volume=)
I'll post a tutorial tomorrow explaining how to make this awesome flower!

Thanks for stoppin by! ttyl! Heidi

New day...new week...new month...new ideas???

Hey peeps! Happy 4th  day of February!!! So...to start this post off, I'm going to share with you some ideas that I've been havin' that will "spice" my blog up a little bit (if you would call it that=)
First, I'm going to start posting some of my photography as I take it. Yes, I do (and really love!) take pictures of pretty much everything  and anything! You can check out most of my photography here http://www.hs1234566.webs.com
And Second, I am totally venturing outside the world of creativity when it comes to...well...creativity!  I'm in the process of creation some "creations" (that's what I like to call them=) using multiple items that I've never (yes...never) used before; such as picture frames, wooden boxes, wood, ect.ect.ect...(those were hints;) So hopefully I'll have finished my "creations" by next week so you can have a look-see!!!

Ok, so you know on the last post that I posted I said that I was back on schedule? I was so wrong! I am way far from being back on schedule! I've been crazy busy lately, it's driving me nuts! =) Infact, I'm just finishing up last weeks, the week before that, and this weeks challenge for the My lifetime story. Is that bad or is that bad? =) I mean, it's not that I'm not scrapping...because I've been scrapping like crazy lately! I just haven't got around to putting together  certain LOs and plus, it usually takes me forever to actually take pictures of my LOs and then post them=)  So, today I'm going to share with you a lo that I just did last night.
This is one of my younger sisters. Isn't she gorgeous??? And she really is totally fabulous! In public, she can be the most shy person(at times=), but then at home...well...that's a whole different story! I wanted to give the lo a "school-girl" feel so I used lots of bright, funky colors=)
I cut out and then painted the butterfly. I also cut out all the flowers and then used a hole punch for the holes that you see.

Ok, so now that I've decided to start posting my photography...check out this view!
Isn't that amazing??? God is such an artist!!!
I had to post this picture becuase I just stare in awe whenever I look at it=D I mean really, all the wonders of God are so amazing!!! Even a dark storm like this is at the same time so beautiful!
I took these pics while visiting our grandparents this year=)
